Berkeley City Club is a historic hotel in Berkeley, California. The original design was a more basic layout that they felt didn't represent the beauty of their property. They wanted their new site to feature less copy, larger imagery, and overall exude a modern sophisticated feel that referenced it’s historic origins.
I was tasked with designing the comp for the site. Ultimately the focus was to show off the historic uniqueness of the property with large imagery. For the homepage, the CTAs were arranged in a masonry two-column layout, the text appears on hover so that the images are featured more prominently. The interior pages feature full-width imagery to show off the architecture and features of the hotel.
